Can I Default the Quarterly Summary Section to be already editable?

Currently, our Quarterly Performance document open up to contain 2 main sections (which we have configured to be included in the performance template). At present, it is required that the user (both employee and manager) clicks on "edit" in order to enter their comments/rating in the Quarterly Summary section.


Is there a way to default that this section is already "open" and ready for comments/rating to be entered without the user needing to click "edit"? 


I have explored doing this via Design Studio, Page Composer, and by reviewing the Performance Template, but none of those efforts led me to any success. Am I missing something, or is this just not possible at present?
