Prevent some special characters name field on career site?

Is there a way to prevent candidates from entering specific special characters (like "/") in the Names fields on the Job Application.  We anticipate that not all of our downstream vendors will be able to accept some of those characters when files are integrated between systems. Is there a way to restrict certain characters up front in ORC so that the characters are not passed on? Or is there support for validations for the Name fields?
