How does tokens in Oracle Communicate work

Hi Experts,

I would like to understand how tokens in email templates work, as I tried the seeded one and it is not fetching the details from Fusion.

For example, I used "First Name" token in the email template and sent a test mail, but it didn't display the value even though First name field has a value in Person Information page.
