Redirect Links – a Hidden Gem within Eloqua
Many of us have used the checkbox in an Eloqua email “Add tracking for untracked external pages.” This option is well-known for adding clickthrough tracking to your emails. When this option is selected, Eloqua creates a masked URL that pings your Eloqua instance and quickly redirects to the destination URL. Below is an example of how it looks in the Redirect Link area of Eloqua.
When inside an email’s HTML and upon deployment, your tracked
link will look like this: “http://secure.p0#.eloqua.com/e/er?s=NumberString=lid=##”. When the masked link is clicked, it redirects to your destination URL, such as www.destination.com.
