Need to Send Welcome Email to New Joinee before 5 days and another email on Date of Joining

Send weclome email to Pending worker 5 days before Joining and to Onboarding welcome email on Day 1

I understand that it is currently not possible to send a welcome email to new joinee from Onboarding. We have tried to customize the Alert template but it does not seem to be working or does not meet the requirement. Also, we tried to customzie the BI ChecklistWelcomeReport.
Is there any other simpler way in which we can send a Welcome email or custom email to a Pending worker or Employee during start of their onboarding or specific tasks with the custom message required.
