Exclude nonworkers not managed by HR from benefits processes

Hi, can we exclude person type nonworker not managed by HR from processing in benefits? This category is for tracking external consultants. They are excluded from the eligibility profile for the benefits plan already. However, life events (e.g. new hire/rehire and termination) are still triggering for them autotomatically and cluttering our processes and reports. Thanks!
