Exposing employee information in the spotlight region

Summary:

I was recently informed that it is possible to expose employee information (i.e. department, job title etc.) within the spotlight region of a HR Help Desk Request by using service connectors and Rest API calls. Is there any documentation which goes through the process of configuring this?
