Connect to API in Sandbox

Is it possible to connect to a specific sandbox with REST calls? I couldn't find a clear description in the documentation. So for example we have sandbox A which sends an api call and receives a response, but when sandbox B sends a message, the response needs to go to that specific sandbox. Is that possible or does every call from a environment just goes back to the mainline?
