Former EMP termed on 1/11/21. His new hire LE was still open. Tried Closing but received errors

Summary:

Former Emp termed on 1/11/21. His new hire LE was still open. I tried to process this LE but the system wouldn't allow me to. I tried voiding and reprocessing the LE and still nothing. I keep receiving the following error:

"You cant create an entry for this element with an effective start date after the element can no longer be used on the employment level. The Basic_Life ER element definition determines how long an element can be used. You entered a start date after the final processing date 21-02-05 for the element on this payroll relationship, employment terms, or assignment."
