Modifying competency name for completed performance document

Requesting for your assistance in modifying competencies for completed performance Document.

Brief background, there is a change in competency name effective 2023. However, for 2023 (which is now closed), the old competency name was used. Is there any way we can change/update the name to the new one without deleting and creating a new perf document? We cannot just change the Competency name as the old name was still being used by 2022 documents and prior. Furthermore, we wanted to update the competency name without deleting the performance document historical data for all employee. So deleting and creating a new perf document using the new competency name is not possible.
