Resignation Checklist Triggers Twice

We currently have an automated resignation checklist that triggers once when an employee submits their resignation and it is approved. However, it also triggers again if HR updates the last working day. We need to find a way to control this issue. Do you have any suggestions or solutions for managing this? Please share your input.
