Report on dispositions that contain....

I want to be able to report based on the text in a disposition, for example.

If disposition contains 'cancel' then do something, else do something else

But I only seem to be able to report by id. I tried instr on the incidents.disp_id.desc, and on dispositions.id.desc, and neither of them worked

Any ideas?!
