Hide inactive employees in employee search

Is it possible to hide inactive employees from the search results in employee search / summary page?

I'm aware we have a profile called ORA_HELPDESK_CONTACT_TERMINATED_EMPLOYEES to restrict the terminated employees form the contact picker in other screens, but this doesn't work for the employee search page within the help desk section.
