Custom field not available as workspace filter

Summary:

I created a custom Fixed choice field on the Opportunity object and made it searchable. I also enabled the new field to Display in UI in Configure Adaptive Search settings. However, the new field is not available to show as a workspace column or filter. When I edit workspace columns, the field is not in the available columns list. Is this a bug, or a settings issue?
