How to automatically update Work from Home flag based on Question Response in Journey

Hello

We have created a journey for Telecommuting Agreement which Manager needs to initiate for their team member. This Journey is questionnaire based where manager will enter the Telecommute Start Date and Telecommute End Date. Once manager provides the response for Start Date and End Date, is there a way to update the employee assignment based on the these start and end dates? Can UserDefined Content Task Type which uses API can be used to achieve this requirement? Or can Process Automation achieve the requirement?

We are aware of the fact that a inbound integration can achieve this requirement but we are exploring any approach within Journey for achieving this requirement.
