Geocoding Clarification on Reference

Hi Team,

Wanted to know how geocoding job populates latitude and longitude in the backend.
We have seen this during our review that geocoding is populating latitude and longitude for those addresses where there is just address1 present, there is no city, state, postalcode provided. what reference geocoding takes to populate latitude and longitude.
