How to get autogenerated field value in redwood UI

Summary:

There is a field (Record Number) which gets populated with autogenerated value whenever a Create button is clicked in Classic UI whereas we are not getting any autogenerated values in Redwood UI. The Object associated with this field is a custom object and we have generated it with cx extension.

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

We are not able to find any scripts associated with this field. Also this field type in Application Composer is 'Text' and its a standard field. We would like to have same functionality for this field in Redwood UI as its there in classic UI.
