Does changing Regional preference number format changes the Salary format displayed on front end?

As per 25A patch update, the salary notifications have been moved to Redwood and the number format to display the salary details within the notifications can be achieved via Regional preference settings. But when we changed this number format, we were able to see the changes on the Change Salary screens as well. Is this the expected behavior?
