How to achieve Customer Number gapless sequencing and what are the pros and cons of doing it gapless

Summary:

To Oracle Community,

While creating customers in Oracle fusion, we have observed that there is a gap of around 1000 in the customer number being generated automatically.

Please advise us as how we can make this sequencing as gapless and if that can be achieved.

Also, please let us know what the merits and demerits are if we enable the gapless sequencing for Customers.
