Print report prints as image

Hi All,

My team has created a report which prints the notes associated with a custom object since there is no default way to print this. 

My issue is now though that if any individual note is large enough to run onto a second page, the report treats it like an image and cuts it sometimes half way through a word. 

I tried exporting to PDF to see if this would fix the issue but it just confirmed it. Small thread entries are treated as text and large ones are treated as images. 

Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so what was your resolution?
