Set Goals task removal and Performance document issue
Summary:
Our organization had the Performance document annual and quarterly reviews with 4 steps (Set Goals, Worker self eval, Mgr Eval and Feedback) till a couple of years back. Two years back, policy changed, and the employee/manager rating and feedback was taken away. So, we needed to have only Goals in the perf doc, and managers will review them every quarter and add their comments against them (no ratings).
To achieve this, we created a "master" Ongoing performance document without an end date, and it will have only "Set Goals" task. The goals will be captured here, added or deleted when they are complete. Then we created quarterly perf documents with two steps "Set Goals" and "Mgr Eval" (without rating). The quarterly doc will automatically display the Goals present in the annual doc, because both have same Review period.
