How can you use multiple BFB Templates to deliver to customers

Our business requirement is to use variations of the BFB detail report to deliver to separate customers. We have three different templates established in BI Publisher and they each show in the Scheduled Process to select when delivering BFBs to customers. When selecting the template in Deliver Balance Forward Bills, it reverts to the default and won't deliver to the customer using the selected template. What is the correct way to process this BFB delivery with a non-default template?
