Date Format for Month Year

We have recently upgraded from Feb 16 to Aug 17.

In Analytics, we have noticed a change to the Month Year date format.  Previously it would return it as 'Oct. 2017' (with a dot), but now is returning it as 'Oct 2017' (without a dot).

We cannot find any information in the release notes that this is an intentional change.

Has anyone noticed this and/or have any release information.  Or should this be raised as a defect for investigation?
