Automatic transfer of performance documents along with mass manager change

Summary:

Hi, our customer does not use the quick action local and global transfer for managing employee transfers. They use the 'Change Manager' action also only in certain conditions, so this does not take all manager changes into consideration. Normally, the manager change comes automatically when there is a position change. In other cases, they also use the 'Mass Assignment Change' functionality to change the manager for a large population.

The question is, in the above scenarios, does the automatic transfer of performance document work only when the 'Change Manager' action is used or can it also be triggered when we use the mass actions and when the manager change comes from a position change? Please advise.
