How to restrict adding a new Anytime Performance document while already one is added?

Hi Team,

We have one enhancement requirement in Anytime Performance Document. We have already enabled PIP using questionnaires in Anytime Performance document.

Line Manager's are adding a PIP anytime performance document for a particular review period eventhough already a PIP document is in Open status for the same review period. This is creating a confusion in the backend report. Could anyone have an idea is that possible to restrict adding a another PIP anytime document while already a PIP is in open stage?
