Element errors Issue while evaluating open enrollment for new plans.

Summary:

Issue : Unable to process Open event due to enrollment error.

Issue Description:

As part of Open enrollment 2026 we have introduced new plan ‘Optional Life, Optional Life - Part Time Employee’ which is supposed to be defaulted instead of the Old plan ‘Optional Life Part Time Employee’.

When processing Open enrollment, we are facing an error:

‘ There was a problem saving the elections because another enrollment exists in the same element that this enrollment uses. (BEN-991105)
Element Employee Supplemental Life ES05, Rate Optional Life Part Time $20,000, Effective date 2026-01-01.’

The element entry mentioned was part of old plan, which is decommissioned, Even the plan is dropped it is still referring the same element entry and throw enrollment errors for old plan.
