HCM Rates process updates the Salary Amount when Adjusted FTE is less than FTE

We are using a Rates-based Salary and have enabled the profile option to use Adjusted FTE for Salary Amount.

When we hire an employee or make assignment changes (where Adjusted FTE is less than FTE), the salary section initially shows the correct values for Salary Amount, Annual Salary, and Annualized Full-Time Salary.

However, after running the HCM Rates process, the Salary Amount is updated based on FTE.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and is this the expected behavior?
