Part 1: Personalization Made Simple: Understanding Eloqua Web Data Lookups
Imagine this, a visitor returns to your website. Instead of staring at a blank form, their name and email address are already filled in. Or maybe they see a message that speaks directly to their interests. That kind of seamless experience is what customers expect today, and it is exactly what Eloqua’s Web Data Lookups (WDLs) can deliver.
But before we dive in, let’s clear up a common point of confusion. Eloqua already has a built‑in way to personalize its own assets, called Field Merges. Field merges are used inside Eloqua for emails, Eloqua forms, and Eloqua landing pages. They let you drop in a contact’s first name in an email, prefill a form field on an Eloqua landing page, or display account information directly.
