Ability to only upload attachment of Word or PDF types

We want to restrict candidates to attach only files of type PDF and DOC.
I have updated the 'Attachment for candidates' section under candidate experience, but the candidate is till able to upload file types that are not PDF or DOC.
I have also checked the profile options : ORA_IRC_MISC_ATTACH_FILE_TYPES , and ORA_IRC_MISC_ATTACH_UNSUPPORTED_FILE_TYPES , and they have the same values as the ones i added under candidate experience.

is there any other steps i need to make like running a scheduled process and so on? why is it not working?
