Notifying the activity owner of an open activity which is going overdue in the next days

Does exists some OOTB configuration (or eventually also some customization) which alerts the activity owners, via Notification Bell, if the open activity are going overdue in the next "n" days?

If so, is possible to exclude from this option/configuration the users who don't want to receive any notification?

p.s. We are still not using Redwood
