Is it possible to use multiple BU's only for few attributes?

Summary:
I want to configure categories/ milestones and other setup globally, meaning common for all the BU's.
However, Knowledge articles should be restricted based on BU's for which we have to enable multiple BU profile option.
Is it possible to achieve this?
Can I have only knowledge articles restricted by BU's, not impacting the other setup?
