Performance Template per Rubric — Is There a Smarter Way?

We are trying to come up with a way to dynamically assign different questionnaires / job-specific questionnaires within a performance document based on an employee's job — similar to how eligibility profiles work at the template level, but applied at the questionnaire level instead. Is this possible?

Our situation: a number of our employees go through the same performance process, but each job type has its own evaluation rubric. We have ~20 distinct rubrics, and the idea of having to maintain a separate template for each one is going to give my client mild existential dread. 😐️
We already know eligibility profiles can route employees to different templates — we're specifically hoping there's a smarter way to handle this without ending up with a template library that outlives us all. Any creative solutions or workarounds welcome! 😊
