We are creating a Sales Order using sales order creation REST API with a Model Item (ATO or PTO) .
The sales order gets successfully created and we are able to review / edit in the UI.
Note - We import our sales orders as Draft. We are not passing the entire Model hierarchy in the payload i.e. Option Classes, Options. We are passing only the Root Item (Main/Parent Model) in this case.

After enabling the 25D feature namely - Redwood: Manage Configured Items on Sales Orders we notice the below:
