Learning Event: Course not completing

We recently received 26A and have been testing the new Learning Events feature. As part of our testing, we created a course with a single Learning Event nested under it. After the learner completed the Learning Event, the course still appears as Not Started.
In our production environment, we have Redwood Learning Catalog and Self-Paced Learning enabled, but we are not currently using Redwood for Learning Assignments and Courses.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior? Any insights or troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
