Beneficiaries Not Carrying Over from Option to Option

We have an employer provided/paid Basic Life Insurance plan that is automatically enrolled to all employees. Our plan has 2 options, one for part timers and one for full timers. Our issue is, when an employee goes from FT to PT, the beneficiaries on the FT Basic Life option are not carrying over to the PT Basic Life option. This of course triggers a pending action item for the plan, and the employee is having to enter the information again. How can we update our configuration to carry the beneficiaries over to the new option?
