Individual Compensation Date Issues

Hi,
We are using the new 26B feature to customize the start-date and end-date behaviour of our individual compensation section, particularly in the Quick Actions "Individual Compensation" and "Administer Compensation".
We're encountering some odd behaviour, that we would like a clarification from Product Management for:
The date-picker for start date and end date still follows the implicit rules from the plan setup to limit the minimum and maximum enterable value, even though there is now a VBS customization overriding the editability of the field.
Both Start Date and End Date were made editable in VBS. Neither was defaulted.
This leads to these consequences:
