Navigating to Custom App UI using Dispatcher

Hello,

We have created a custom object and are creating a custom App UI for it in VBS as the customer doesn't want to have the default UI created by the CX Extension generator. Our requirement is to still use the OOTB list page for the custom object as it supports REST based adaptive/elastic search but when they click on the record's link, they should be navigated to our custom App UI. Is this possible to achieve or do we also have to create the list page in our application?
