how to add 'activitySubType' to express report as a column

Summary:
In the predefined 'activity' report type template, provided by Oracle, we see that there is no 'activtySubtype' column to add in our express reports. I believe this to be a limitation of the template and that we cannot 'edit' this ourselves. Does anyone know if this is indeed this case?
