What is the best way a introduce new options in a plan if old options already in selected

Summary:

We have a requirement to add new option names in a plan and end date the existing option codes from plan configuration. We make the Old option inactive from 01-Aug-2026 which is already selected in previous months and added new options from 01-Aug-2026.

Now when we open the period for August and try to select the new options then system is giving this error . If we enroll into the new options then inactive the old options then this error is not coming.
