Can a field technician create an activity and self-assign it using the CCS–OFS accelerator?

We are using the CCS–OFS accelerator and would like to understand whether a field technician can create an activity and assign it to themselves, with the activity then syncing to CCS out of the box.

From the documentation, we understand that a field technician can create an activity via the Unrelated Activity plugin, but it is not clear whether the technician can also assign that activity to themselves.
