Re: Since RU 19.28 cdump twice a day without incident
We have been informed that this is a known bug. Development is working on a fix.
Bug 38344095 : EXCESSIVE DIAGNOSTIC DUMPS GENERATED BY DBW PROCESS AFTER APPLYING 19.28 DBRU.
Re: how to apply patch 34672698 with non-agreeing versions of grid and db homes
There is no difference for the patches for a grid home or a database home. So you downloaded the correct patches.
What is missing is the roothas.sh -postpatch script at the end of the patching, which will start the clusterware stack again.
And I am not sure whether the prepatch and postpatch operations set the ownership and chmod for the oradism executable home correctly as i the readme stated.
I have often installed this patch (but always "only" into a database home), and there you need to do that manually.
Re: ODBCSQL Connection Failure Post Siebel Patch IP25.7 on IP24.11 – Impacting Siebel Service Startup
Hello Abhishek,
Do you see configagent.properties file update with below 2 lines ?
ODBCMigrationStatus=
OracleClientHomeDir=
siebenv.sh update with below variables?
paths will be different, as this is your local environment paths. But main variables comes with 25.2 and later due to new oracle ODBC drivers update.
ODBCSYSINI=/xxxx/siebel/ses/siebsrvr/sys; export ODBCSYSINI
ORACLE_HOME=/xxxx/siebel/ses/oracledbclient; export ORACLE_HOME
PATH=/refresh/xxxx/ses/oracledbclient:${PATH}; export PATH
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/xxxx/siebel/ses/oracledbclient:${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}; export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Review your install*.out or .log by searching Merant keyword.
And $SIEBEL_ROOT/oracledbclient/network/admin, where you can see newly copied files for tnsnames.ora file
If no, you need to restore and rerun the installation. When we start installation, you will be pop-up with "Is Siebel enterprise configured with Oracle Database". When you select yes, then you will be provide existing oracle client path and so on.
If still the issue continue, open a service request to debug.

Re: Heterogenous Services connections broken after applying July 25 CPU to 21c database home
Thank you RS-Oracle. We are building a test Windows server in an effort to replicate the problem. I will apply Patch 36551493 on the test Windows server once we've configured and replicated the error in that environment. I will update this thread with the results.
Re: Since RU 19.28 cdump twice a day without incident
Peter, thank you for sharing that information. My SR has received no attention at this point. I just increased the severity, so hopefully I will hear something shortly.
Whether there is a "relink" will depend on how you install/patch your Oracle Home. A link of the binaries will occur at some point. In our case, we did perform a relink because a new kernel was installed. We are running the RHCK on OL8.10. It looks like you are running OL8.6? Are you running the RHCK or UEK? Are you only seeing this in RAC environments? That is our situation. Did Oracle Support request a relink of only the DB OH binaries or the GI binaries as well?
I'm going to relink the binaries today in a dev environment. I'll update with our results. Depending on what we see, I may rollback our RHCK to the original version to see if that resolves the issue.
Re: Since RU 19.28 cdump twice a day without incident
I also don‘t believe that relinking won’t resolve the issue, but support has it requested so should doing it (grid and oracle binaries). We use UEK8.6. An other customer says in this threat in his env that issue is on windows, so the issue doesn’t depends on OS. This tells me the dumping request without incident is an debugflag which the developer has forgot.
Many years ago, I had simular issue where many trace files were written. This was caused by a debug flag in code which wasn‘t commented out by developer.
Cheers Peter
Re: Unable to create Solaris 10 branded zone on Solaris 11.4 (Sparc) - zfs issue
Hi Saravanan,
I go the issue and resolve it. It was failing because of space issue.
Thanks,

Why is Project Team missing from Project Update Wizard?
We are on PUM 51 and the PeopleBooks documentation shows that "Project Team Member" should be an option for the "Update Type", however, I do not see it in our environments or the DEMO environment. This leads me to believe that there is setup missing or functionality not turned on. Is there set up that needs to occur in order for this option to appear? Can someone point me to the functionality that I may need to turn on for this to appear as an option?
