Re: Master Routings for process items.
Hi,
No, it is not possible to create master routings for process items with different co-products.
In process manufacturing, routing controls all variables, and different co-products may require different processes. It is not feasible to produce different products with the same ingredients and process.
Also, master routings are mainly designed for discrete manufacturing and not for process manufacturing scenarios.

Hi @User_KUZ38,
No, R4311Z1I does not support releasing against blanket purchase orders.

Re: In the transfer order, the SHIP-TO AN8 should be different and not the TO Branch Plant AN8.
Hi @GP,
Your setup for using an alternate address (AN8 56743) looks conceptually correct. However, the error 0886 (“Tax Area Required”) is occurring due to missing tax area information in the customer master.
In JD Edwards, the Tax Explanation Code and Tax Area must always be used together. During sales order entry, the system first defaults the Tax Area from the customer master. In your case, the error is triggered because the default Tax Area is not populated.
Even when Alternate Tax Area functionality is enabled, the system still expects a default Tax Area in the customer master. If the system successfully resolves an alternate tax area (via F40081), that value takes precedence. However, if it does not resolve, the system falls back to the default Tax Area — which is currently blank, hence the error.
To resolve this:
- Populate a valid default Tax Rate/Area in the customer master for all involved address numbers (especially 98760 and 56743).
- Ensure that the Tax Explanation Code is aligned with the Tax Area.
- Keep Alternate Tax Area setup as-is if required, but do not rely on it as the only source.
Once a default Tax Area is maintained, the system should no longer throw error 0886, and your alternate address logic should work as expected.
If you still face the issue, please raise an SR and kindly attach a document with detailed issue information, including screenshots, to help us troubleshoot efficiently.

Re: In the transfer order, the SHIP-TO AN8 should be different and not the TO Branch Plant AN8.
Hi @GP,
Thank you for the update.
Glad to hear that the tax area issue (error 0886) has been resolved after setting up the explanation code and tax rate.
Regarding your question on Sold To and Ship To in the transfer order:
As per standard behavior, it is not possible to have different Sold To and Ship To (AN8 98760 and 56743 respectively) at the time of transfer order creation. Both values are defaulted based on the Branch/Plant Address Book Number defined in Branch/Plant Constants (P41001), which represents the receiving branch.
However, as a workaround, you may update the Ship To address after the order is created by using the Sales Order Entry application (P4210) with version ZJDE0001.
Please let me know if you need any assistance while trying this.

Mahesh

Re: Status Invalid for this order type error
Hi @AngieD,
There are multiple setups involved in the purchase order approval process. To find the exact root cause of the issue, we need to check each one. Please refer the Oracle Note: E1: 43: Approval Processing in EnterpriseOne (KA857), for better understanding on configuration setups.
This issue would be best handled through a Service Request (SR), as we’ll need to review your configuration and a issue transaction.
Kindly attach a document with detailed issue information, including screenshots, to your SR. This will help us troubleshoot efficiently.

Re: Updating existing POs through R4311Z1I
Hi,
It is not possible to update or change existing purchase orders using Transaction Action Code = 04 (Change) in F4301Z1 and F4311Z1. The Inbound Purchase Order program (R4311Z1I) is designed only to create new purchase orders and does not support updates.
This functionality is similar to EDI Inbound 865, which also allows creation but not updates. There is no batch program available in this process to modify existing purchase orders.
To update existing purchase orders, it is recommended to use:
- R47141 program (EDI Inbound 865)
- Interactive Purchase Order Entry (P4310)

Mahesh
Re: Critical patch download - Oracle database 19c on Linux
I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago, trying to download patch 38854064. I got the exact same errors, multiple times, of Feb 4 (I know the date, because I posted an update to my SR then about the error). I was using Chrome, and eventually opened Firefox, logged into the support portal, and was finally able to download the patch. Oracle doesn't make it easy to get patches.
