Re: ORA-01152: file 1 was not restored from a sufficiently old backupORA-10458 signalled during: alter d
I did address the other customer's problem. This thread was exactly what pointed me to my solution. I checked the latest SCN in each datafile, and the latest SCN in each received archived log. I found that there was a gap not covered by the latest archived log received from all instances. In forcing an archived log switch, the system datafile was able to recover to a like SCN in all other datafiles.
ACTIVITIES VIEW layout
Looking for an activities view with Group and Sort as follows: Top "Group By" Level - Resource Name, 2nd "Group By" Level - Project. with Project as the 2nd Group By Level, is there a way to sort the projects by total float instead of "Sort Bands Alphabetically"??
The desired view will show the Resource, their projects, and the activities within those projects assigned to them. The projects need to be able to be sorted, so as to show a "waterfall" view of the activities based on total float of the project.
I am using desktop P6 version 24.
Re: Index Creation - 19c
The STATUS LIKE 'Completed%' predicate has a selectivity of 0.985 (8,370 rows returned out of 8,499), meaning the Oracle CBO's index range scan cost, driven by ⌈table_selectivity × clustering_factor⌉, will exceed the cost of the existing FTS, the optimizer will either ignore the index or, if hinted, produce a regressed plan; In addition, EMBOOK_HEADER_ID carries no filter predicate in the WHERE clause and participates exclusively as a hash join probe key at steps 1 and 2, B-tree indexes on join columns provide no benefit to hash join operations, only to nested loop joins; the FTS on XXTTD_APEX_EMBOOK_HDR_TAB at step 6 already costs only 625 logical I/Os and completes in 0.01 seconds, it is categorically not the bottleneck and requires no intervention. The true and only significant cost in this execution plan is the FTS of XXTTD_APEX_EMBOOK_SUBLINES_TAB at step 5: 2,489,000 rows, 63,152 buffer gets, and 0.26 seconds of elapsed time, representing approximately 65% of total query cost. I think the correct action is to create a covering index on XXTTD_APEX_EMBOOK_SUBLINES_TAB(EMBOOK_HEADER_ID, REQUEST_ID), which would allow the CBO to replace the 2.489M-row table scan and the HASH GROUP BY at step 4 with an INDEX FAST FULL SCAN or INDEX RANGE SCAN.

Hi Geanina
I can see the images now,
Thank you very much for your help.
Re: Maintenance Scheduled for Virtual Machine Instance
In response to the private message you sent me, there is no action you can take on your side to move this date forward or backward; the only option is to raise an SR with Oracle Support to request a formal exception, though for security-driven REQUIRED events, this is almost always declined.

Re: Maintenance Scheduled for Virtual Machine Instance
Hello,
I think you are not required to absorb the downtime at Oracle's scheduled time: OCI's Customer Managed VM Maintenance mechanism gives you a window of 14 to 16 days from the notification date during which you can proactively reboot migrate the instance yourself at any time that suits your operations, effectively moving the ~20-minute downtime to a window of your choosing. Additionally, for standard and flex shapes, the due date itself can be extended beyond Oracle's initial deadline via Console → Instance → Maintenance tab → Reschedule → Extend Deadline, or programmatically using the GetInstanceMaintenanceReboot API, with the caveat that security-related maintenance events do not support deadline extension. If no proactive action is taken before the due date, OCI will execute the reboot migration automatically within 24 hours after that deadline.
Cheers
