UG to 857 now Alternate User aka backup approver functions differently.

Hi,

We recently move from PT 855 to 857.  Since that update we are noticing that when approvers setup their alternate approver/backup approver, the original approver is now being included in the email notification and in the workflow.  I'm guessing this is a new feature but it is confusing some of our approvers.  In 855 it would only include the backup approver during the from/to in the workflow and notifications.

Is there a way for us to turn this off and revert to the old way?
