AWE reassignment at multiple levels

Financials We are on version 9.2.41

Using Monitor Approvals how do you reassign a user on multiple levels? For example there is a req where Mary Smith is the approver for steps 10 and 30. If I assign John Smith to the req, when John approves step 10 it does not automatically reassign John to step 30.
