NSC | Journal Entry > Resolve Invalid Number
Scenario:
When a user attempts to create a new journal entry or copy an existing one in NetSuite, the process may fail and return the following error message:
The "Invalid Number" error in this context is often related to an issue within the individual journal entry lines. Specifically, the error may be triggered if a journal line references an Account record with an Internal ID of 0, which is not a valid reference in NetSuite. NetSuite requires that all referenced records—including Accounts—have a valid Internal ID that corresponds to an existing record in the system. An Internal ID of 0 is not associated with any valid Account and therefore results in a system validation failure when the transaction is processed.
