  • I disagree and so did the NS employee that I just talked to. Current behavior (that you say is as designed)... 1. A New customer places a order through the web store. Customer= out of state Result= no IN STATE sales tax is charged 2. New Customer calls in Order. New order is placed through NS application. Customer= out of…
  • Origami, "customer default to taxable" should be checked. Marcus's fix worked for us. Go to "setup -> accounting -> set up accounting -> tax" and change the "default tax code" and make it blank. Now it charges tax on "in state orders" and doesn't charge tax on out of state orders regardless of how the order came to us. We…
  • We still need sales tax a FIX from NS!!!! New out-of-state customers ordering through our "web store" have NULL as the preferred "tax item" and their accounts behave like we need them to (only charging sales tax to orders shipping to Illinois addresses). Unfortunately NS does NOT assign NULL as the preferred "tax item"…
  • Marcus, Thank you so much for the fix! It has appeared to solve this problem. I called NS about 11am today and they couldn't solve the problem and still haven't emailed a remedy. One again, this group is our best source of valuable information when solving these NS problems. T
  • Our issue number = 111455
  • We have the same problem. Yesterday Tax was working fine. Today all customers are charged tax. We should only have tax on orders shipping to Illinois. I'm sure this has already discourage some of our online customers from ordering.
  • Patrice, That "workaround" only worked for about a week...but it doesn't work anymore. With no "default tax code", it recently stopped charging tax for In-State orders..so we had to set the "default tax code" back to "illinois sales tax". Test it in you account and see for yourself. Who thought that collecting sales tax…
  • I already voted for it. ....in June of 2006. I suppose that means that there is NO work-around. Tom
  • Patrice, We do not charge 'out of district' sales tax. We want all in-state sales to be charged OUR county's tax rate. I added a zip code to the Illinois sales tax item (as per your suggestion). Nothing changed!! It still charges tax correctly on the web-store orders (and doesn't charge tax to the "out of state…
  • sales tax is still broken!! Again!! About two weeks ago, the system mysteriously started charging everyone sales tax. We changed the "default tax item" from Illinois Sales Tax to NULL. It seemed to work for about a week and then we noticed another problem and we set the default back to Illinois and now today I noticed…
  • Issue: 111060
  • Yea, that is a work around that we added about a year ago. It isn't the greatest work around because it doesn't have any impact on what NS charges the new customer for shipping. In other words... all new customers are charged for residential (our default) regardless of what they select in that custom "address type" field. T
  • In our upcoming Summer 2007 release, you can specify your package size, which items ship in which packages, and which items always ship individually. We will then use this information to return more accurate shipping rates, and to automatically create packages at fulfillment. When is the summer 2007 release?
  • Any ETA on a fix?
  • Now I'm on the phone with NS. 1.5 hours before an human answerers the phone.
  • Issue# 110608 Total time needed to tell NS about their problem. 2 hours 7 minutes.
  • Baruch, NS has made the standard NS filed "residential = yes/no" UNAVAILABLE to customers during store checkout and you can't customize NS to make it available. Is there a work-around available to allow our customers to pick their "address type" when they enter a web-store order? -Tom
  • I don't know how it works for others, but we get charged extra $$$ from UPS if we ship something as a BUSINESS address and it is really RESIDENTIAL. So, we need that information when printing a UPS shipping label. PLUS, the store calculations will be too high for businesses IF every single customer is charged the higher…
  • Well, over a year ago I asked NS for a way to mark items that will always ship by themselves. So, there is an enhancement request for you to add your name to. I just don't know what it is. also,... We need a way to flag items that ship as UPS over-sized-1 and UPS over-sized-2 so NS can charge accordingly. We need a way to…
  • Interesting. I never tried that site. We have two identical home pages. One is at... http://www.signsdirect.com/site/featured_categories.html One is at... http://www.signsdirect.com/ They appear identically on the screen, but one is a static page hosted in the NS file cabinet. The shorter URL is the one we use now (we…
  • Have you considered adding a google sitemap? We have added one to our NS site. See the thread in this group called "Google Sitemaps??'. T
  • > And even when you fix it now we have to wait till Google comes back > to index us again before our sales will go back to where they were. Not if you add a "Google sitemap" to your site and use the "notify Google" feature. With a sitemap, you notify Google when you have new information to be indexed ....rather than just…
  • Julian, NS already DOES offer a preferred suppliers field for each individual child item. You may need to activate a feature in your account. Our child items each have a "preferred vendor" at the bottom of the "basic tab". Do you have "multiple vendors" turned on? Anyhow, they have it already, BUT unfortunately that is…
  • I just tried to enter a matrix item 4 times in a row with no success!!! Each time I got the same error. It says "Drop ship/Special Order items must have a preferred vendor and a cost". Each time I had entered the preferred vendor and a cost information and yet it would say that I did not supply that information!!! This is…
  • Tom, Issue 101545 (your second point) is marked as a bug, not as an enhancement. The issue was upgraded last week. When I go to the "support center" it says "Case # 409214 : Enhancement: 101545 - retain Preferred vendor information after editing the parent matrix". I doesn't say "Issue" .... it says "Enhancement". -Tom
  • Yet another problem with matrix items... Child Item # 1 (active item) 1-9 ... $10 10+ ... $8 Child Item # 2 (active item) 1-9 ... $10 10+ ... $8 Child Item # 3 (Inactive item) 1-9 ... $8 10+ ... $5 Displays in store as... 1-9 ... $8-$10 10+ ... $5-$8 So, deactivating a child item doesn't remove it from the quantity pricing…
  • Thanks Angie, They are saying the target version for a fix of this problem is a Feb. 2007 release. -T
  • OK. We got Google checkout integrated and it seem to work fine. I do have one question. Our customers can use Google in our webstore via the Google checkout Integration, but I'm also interested in having the "Google checkout" button by our items in Google's shopping database. Is that a separate project or does that come as…
  • Actually, I found the problem or work-around for the above post. I didn't have a value in the "vendor purchase price" (under the inventory tab). I did have a "vendor purchase price" on the purchase price area on the bottom of the basic tab, but you need it in both places (on some occasions, but not on other...depending on…
  • On the OLD user group, I posted the problem above. A NS user replied and said... > This lovely bug is tied to the Multiple Vendors feature. If you turn > off the Multiple Vendor feature and enter cost and vendor, you can > mark the item drop ship/special order. You can then you go back > and turn on the Multiple Vendor…
