Baruch Goldwasser, THANK YOU! Great news that it is being looked at more seriously. One NS employee once told me that he thought that the problem would go away if NS would just move the "preferred vendor info" OFF of the bottom of the "BASIC tab" and onto another tab (like the inventory tab). I have no idea if he had a…

Here is another problem with the 2nd issue that may help NS see that it should be escalated into a problem and not just an ENHANCEMENT. Lets say that a company has a less experienced person that isn't aware of this bug and they decide to fix a spelling error or something in a matrix item. They don't know that by doing so…
-
The above work around doesn't always work!!! I just tried making some changes to a matrix item and it did have a preferred vendor and vendor pricing in both the "inventory tab" and the "main tab" and it still gave me the error "inventory items must have a preferred vendor...". It then offers me a "go back button", but…

Why was preferred vendor data (which is the crux of these problems) even on the parent item? Can anyone at NS answer that? You can NOT order a quantity of the parent item as it is NOT a real orderable item. Only the children are real orderable items. In my opinion preferred vendor data SHOULD be on the parent item ONLY…

If NS were committed to ecommerce companies as customers they would have made many, many improvements to the webstore years ago. Frankly, I do not think that they are terribly interested in small fry customers that utilize their ecommerce features. Bigger fish tend to use the crm and other modules more intensley. I agree.…

The biggest problem (in the 2nd issue) is getting NS to understand the problem. That alone is a testament to how convoluted NS has become. If they understood the 2nd problem and how frustrating it is and how crippling it is.... they may do something about it. Instead, I often send a complicated case like that and get a…

I thought I found a fix, but it turned out to be yet another problem. A new feature of v11 is that you can set on child item to "drop ship" while another child item in the same matrix is set to "non-drop-ship". So, I set the parent item to "non-drop-ship" and the children to "drop-ship" and I figured that would solve all…

Is there a work-around for the 1st issue? How do the people who are currently using Matrix items avoid the 2nd issue? Does anyone else use Matrix items? -T

Doesn't "channel advisor" cost a ton of money? If they are the same ones that I checked with, it was several thousand to get started with them and then a big monthly fee on top of the initial cost. Please advise.

We're cranking away on it. Should be in our 2008.2 release late this year. Thanks, -e It wasn't in v2008.2, so what is the new ETA. Tom

Would you say that it is the ecommerce area (in general) ...that needs the most enhancement? I wonder how hard it would be to make it so we could install applications on NS server storage space? Then NS could make a "one click install script" to help users install popular open source ecommerce additions. I use the Blue…

NS says... The reason we have not yet integrated with Google Checkout is because their APIs would remove a lot of NetSuite's functionality from your web-store. The shopper could not use NetSuite coupons, gift certificates, shipping items, website emails or the Customer Center. My question is...Could NS do it WITHOUT the NS…
-
It looked like you could already integrate with the Google-Checkout if you put their "buy it now" html in the description of the NS items. See first option at... https://checkout.google.com/seller/developers.html They also mention "Option three: Google Checkout API". I wish NetSuite would do more API integration with…

Is there an existing enhancement to show all categories right along side products and NOT show them above all products? I would also like categories and items all mixed together with no discernible difference. T

We pay over $2K/month in credit card processing fees. NS, can you try not to wait for this deal to expire before you figure out a way for us to take advantage of this deal? Has Google said what their rates will be AFTER this free period?

Our vendor added a second variation of a large group of items. Their old items are NOT matrix items within NetSuite. It seems like someone could make an add-on product for netSuite that allowed users to select multiple non-matrix items in NetSuite and sell them as a virtual-matrix item. We've always found this limitation…
-
In some cases, we have used a category (to represent the item group) with a dense lists as an alternative to a matrix item... see... http://www.signsdirect.com/Home/Stop-Signs see... http://www.signsdirect.com/Home/24-Scroll-Bracket-Optional-Accessories
-
I guess a 3rd way would be... Have one of the categories with no items in it and then put a link in it's HTML description that says... Scarves are in our "winter wear department". Click HERE to go to that department.

NS, has any progress been made toward adding an upload feature for the webstore? We make signs and would like an upload button for customer's art. It would be awsome if it could be made so that the customer uploaded their art as a mandatory requirement before adding the custom item to the shopping cart and then NS made a…

NetSuite isn't a web-hosting company. They are an ERP company with integrated ecommerce. Due to the mission-criticality of the data, they have chosen to block unauthenticated file uploads. I know it's aggravating but I sleep better knowing that they have. No uploads makes it one significant step harder for someone to…

NetSuite doesn't want to be GoDaddy. You get my point. They also aren't a merchant bank service, but they facilitate our connectivity to such services as PayPal and CyberSource. They aren't an online auction company, but they facilitate our connectivity to such services as Ebay. So, why not facilitate our connectivity to…
-
We could also use that feature. Has anyone entered an enhancement? It could have it in the check-out or at the item level. It would be cool if it asked for the art when adding the item to the cart (giving custom the option to skip the art upload). If they do upload art when adding the item, it would need to assign a…

Thanks for the tip. I will turn it off. so, you think NS should make it like this... www.ourdomain/shoes/womens_shoes/red_pumps and not just giving us the ability to do this... www.ourdomain/red_pumps so, having the item's name in the URL helps only as long as it follows a path or hierarchy and not if they are all just…

Jack, thanks for being the guinea pig on the descriptive URLs. I want to use this feature, but want to know that the bugs are removed before I activate the feature. There was a earlier post about having descriptive categories included in the item's URL. I noticed that some big sites (like EBAY) just use descriptive words…

The way "Yahooo store" worked was that it would put 10 in the cart (if 10 was set as the minimum) even if the customer type "3" and clicked on "add to cart". So, it automatically put in the minimum and if they tried to lower it (in the cart); it just wouldn't take any entry under the minimum amount. -Tom
-
Try it on a Macintosh! I added a item to the cart. I added ONE item and the item was set to minimum of 10. No warning came up and it DID accept the quantity below the minimum. Later I when to checkout and the checkout didn't work. I thought...HHmmm... "v11 must have broke the check-out". I removed the item that was under…
-
> We will either disable the continue button until the right quantity > is entered, or present a pop-up telling the user what the minimum > quantity is. I recommend the Yahoo store method. Too many people use pop-up blockers and will just think our store is broken. Also, allowing it to happen (quantities lower than what…

Jeffrey, NS, should offer you free phone support as pay for doing the in-depth beta testing and reporting of the results. I passed on the NS-eBay for two reasons. 1. I don't want to pay just to be a NS guinea pig anymore. 2. I could practically hire someone to manually build and run and maintain an eBay store and manually…

I was told by NS that they changed from category links that WERE like... /s.nl/c.123456/sc.2/category.162/.f to then new category links that WERE like... /s.nl/sc.2/category.162/.f BECAUSE the number that was dropped from the URL ("123456" in the sample above) was the NS user's NS account ID and they figured that having…

Baruch, sounds like your on it. As long as the pop-ups aren't blocked and are visible ...it will be great. I'm just glad that the current solution is only temporary. Any ETA on the new way that you mentioned? T
