This is a good point and would add value. It is also available in Answers so no reason for not being in DV, right?

This is a frustrating usability issue - a workaround that has been used to deal with this issue is to create new calculations every time a user needs to have a custom headers. Very tedious and time-consuming.

We used for this purpose (for on-premise OBIEE, but I guess, it should work) concept of externalization of names/decriptions of objects in presentation layer (see: https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/bi/analytics-server/metadata-oas/use-administration-tool-utilities.html#GUID-3F2BD5A3-2C8A-4F28-9379-7FCF32A748BE). Primarily it is intended for "localizing" presentation layer objects to different langauges, but can be used for your purpose as well. You just need to "expose" to end users (via some UI - for example in APEX) a table, which contains those "custom" presentation layer object names.

Hi Wilian,
Can you expand how it is possible in Answers? I though it is not available in Answers.

Thanks Michal for this workaround idea. I think we could use it if we want to implement for small set of columns.
If my subject area has 1000+ columns. I will end up creating 1000 init blocks. And assume that if a report has 20 columns, it will fire 20 different SQLs to display column names.
Did you had large scale or small scale columns using localization? And did you had any performance issue?

Hi Nikunj,
you only need one Init Block (one SQL query) to retrieve all "strings" for presentation layer object names for display.
I dont think that retrieval of 1000 + column names would be a problem...

I agree this will be a value addition.
However, you may try to create a local subject area with the subject area columns that you need and apply all preparation steps that are available for datasets. Not sure if this will serve your purpose but it could be a solution to some of the use-cases.
