Description
Hi,
1. Click on Create Project
2. Go to Prepare Tab and select Diagram tab.
3. Added 2 Excel Files ( common column is present )
4. Upon clicking the "Join Line" between 2 excels in the Diagram tab, "Blend Data" dialog box opens.
5. There is one message line . That says- " This Connection Will Add Facts or Extend a Dimension"
That you have an option to choose either of them
6. What is the meaning of this option ?
7. In what scenario we have to use it ? What result would each of this option (Add Facts or Extend a Dimension) produce ?
8. Not able to find information in Oracle DV documentation.

Samarendra,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will review the documentation to locate where these options are documented and also per your idea consider adding direct descriptions of the options to the blend dialog. I will update this idea when I can point you to the documentation.

Hi Neeti,
We saw the article video on Blend Data.
But we are unable to locate the significance of Add Facts/ Extend a Dimension option in the video.

Hi Samarendra,
The document contains the following information on when to -
- Extend a Dimension - For example, Data Set A might contain new dimensions that extend the attributes of Data Set B.
- Add Facts - Data Set B might contain new facts that you can use alongside the measures that already exist in Data Set A.

Also, if you need, I can provide a couple of examples with sample datasets. Please let me know.
